Kolkata Metro to increase trains from Friday, 5-minute gap in peak hours

The timing of the service will remain unchanged with the first train at 7.30am and the last at 8pm

Metro Rail Kolkata has decided to increase the number of daily trains from 220 to 228 on weekdays starting from Friday, August 13.

The interval between two trains has also been reduced to five minutes during the morning and evening peak hours.

In a press communique on Wednesday, the Metro authorities said that there will be no Metro service on Sundays. Also, only staff special trains will run on Saturdays.

The timings of the Metro service will remain unchanged with the first train at 7.30am and the last at 8pm.

No tokens will be allowed, commuters will have to keep using smart cards.

The East-West Metro service will remain unchanged.
